There are many hotels in the immediate vicinity of JFK Airport. We chose Holiday Inn Express based on ratings and value for money.

We had a one-night stay – on the evening of our arrival after a flight from Sydney to New York (via Los Angeles). On arrival at JFK Airport we took the free Air Train to Federation Circle Station where we took a shuttle bus to the hotel.

After a friendly and easy check in at Reception, we proceeded to Room #315 on the third floor, just opposite the elevator. The room was very clean with very comfortable king size bed (we found the pillows to be quite luxurious).

Amenities in our room included a good-sized desk, coffee making machine, small wardrobe, TV, air-conditioning, bedside tables and lamps, digital clock, telephone, full length mirror, iron and ironing board, luggage rack, arm chair.

The bathroom was also very clean with shower above the bath. There was a hairdryer provided.

For dinner there were several options for takeaway food to be delivered to the hotel. We ordered Chinese meals and were able to sit in the breakfast room to enjoy our meal – all very convenient.

The hotel faces a very busy road, which is not a problem when the window is closed however if you want to enjoy fresh air and open the window, there is traffic noise.

Our room rate included breakfast, provided in the breakfast room near Reception.

Wifi was provided free of charge.

On the morning of our departure we were able to take the free shuttle bus to Federation Circle Station, where we collected a hire car at the Hertz Hire Car company.

We can recommend Holiday Inn Express for clean, convenient accommodation in the JFK Airport area.
