Arriving in Reykjavik on an early morning international flight, we had booked Town Apartment for two nights.
The owner of the apartment met us at the apartment (#304), gave us the keys and showed us around. We were very happy with the accommodation – it was a brand new, spacious and very comfortable two-bedroom apartment in an excellent location – a short walk to Reykjavik’s main street.
Maple Tree Apartments provide modern, affordable accommodation and are very good value for money.
The apartments are located in District VIII at 18-20 Kisfaludy utca, one block back from a main road – Jozsef körút – where tram lines 4 and 6 run. It is just a 15-minute walk to the Central Market Hall on the Danube, and minutes walk to the modern Corvin Shopping Plaza where there is an excellent supermarket if you are self-catering (turn left when you leave Maple Street Apartments and the Plaza is in the same street).
This apartment building is brand-new and just a short walk across the river to Sarajevo’s city centre and the Old Town – about a 15-minute walk. We can highly recommend a stay – the apartments are modern, clean, comfortable and very conveniently located. There is also a lift.
Centrum Apartments is very conveniently located, a short walk from Pecs historical centre. It is very attractive and feels like a guest house with lovely gardens, secure off-street parking and friendly staff.
We booked into Room 4, a very spacious room with large bedroom and bathroom. It was a room for three people with one queen bed and one single bed.
Hotel Villa Milas is a small, family run hotel of 16 rooms that opened last year – in May 2014*. The location is excellent as it is only a few minutes walk from Mostar’s Old Town.
On arrival we received a very warm welcome. It was a hot day – 34 degrees – and we were offered refreshing cool drinks – a choice of either pomegranate or elderflower. As we sipped our drinks the staff were most helpful with information about Mostar.They gave us maps and made suggestions of places to visit.
When visiting Dubrovnik, we stayed at Villa Bon Vivant, on the coast at Mlini – about a 15-minute drive from Dubrovnik.
We were on a self-drive trip and had been advised that parking was difficult to come by at Dubrovnik and it was a good idea not to stay in the city itself.
We booked Villa Bon Vivant as it was a short ferry ride into Dubrovnik.
Arriving in Mlini, it was difficult to find our accommodation – it was down a steep driveway that was a bit daunting at first but we soon got used to it.
We felt very fortunate to be staying at Hotel Liburna (now known as Aminess Liburna Hotel) – it was one of the most modern hotels on Korcula, in a great location, a short walk to the Old Town and with lovely views.
On arrival by car, we followed signs to Hotel Liburna and arrived at the back of the hotel where there was a carpark.
The hotel looked new, and checking in at Reception, we were told it had only opened to guests about 10 days prior, after being totally renovated.
Villa Irena has a wonderful location by the sea – with just the sea path around to Hvar Town separating the villa from the water. It was one of our favourite places to stay in Croatia.
We were given a very warm welcome on arrival and stayed on the ground floor of the villa – in a large two-bedroom apartment – Apartment 1.
On arrival at the Villa Queen Apartments, we were greeted by Jelena – a wonderful host – enthusiastic and helpful. The apartments are located on the large island of Ciove, a few minute’s drive from the Old Town Trogir.
We had Apartment 9 on the top floor. It was a spacious two-bedroom apartment with large, open-plan living/dining/kitchen area with doors onto a front balcony and wonderful views.
Guesthouse Academia Danica
Guesthouse Academia Danica is in an excellent location for exploring Plitvice Lakes National Park. It is an easy walk to Entrance 1 (Lower Lakes) – just a few hundred metres.
We received a warm welcome from our host on arrival and booked into Room 5 on the first floor. It was a small room with a long desk along one wall, and two single beds end-to-end on the other wall under a sloping ceiling fitted with a skylight. The room was warm and cosy and had a split system air-conditioner for added comfort.
