B&B Il Cappero is a charming guesthouse on the island of Lipari – the largest of the Aeolian Islands in Sicily.

We caught a ferry from Mizzaro, on Sicily’s mainland, to Lipari. It is a very pleasant trip of just under one hour. Arriving at Lipari’s Marina Lunga at around 1.47pm we phoned Il Cappero and were advised that the driver who was to pick us up to take us to our accommodation, did not work between 1pm and 3pm! It was a good opportunity for us to enjoy lunch and we found a waterfront bar called Fratelli Laise with outdoor seating overlooking the water at Marina Lunga, and had a Panini and salad.

Our driver arrived just after 3pm for the five minute drive to our accommodation.

Il Cappero is an attractive 3-storey building with lovely gardens.

We had a room on the second floor, where there were three rooms – named Vulcano, Lipari and Salina.

Our room was Lipari – a light-filled, bright and breezy room in grey and white. It is a large room with French doors leading to a large deck overlooking the town and the sea.

Guest Room Lipari

The room was well furnished with:

  • A large, comfortable bed (two singles pushed together)
  • Two bedside tables and lamps
  • Chest of drawers with mirror above
  • Small round table with two chairs
  • Small safe on the wall
  • Flat screen TV on the wall
  • Split system air conditioner on the wall

The bathroom featured a basin, bidet, toilet and shower. A hairdryer was provided.

Just off the bathroom was a small room with wardrobe, a small fridge, and hooks on the wall.

Internet access is not the best – it is weak and we use our mobile phone as a hotspot.

A delicious breakfast is included in the room rate and served on the terrace near Reception.

B&B Il Cappero – Highly Recommended
We can highly recommend a stay at Il Cappero. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable. It is a pleasant walk down to the main part of town.
