The apartments are in a corrugated iron building – typical of the beautiful older-style buildings in Reykjavik’s centre.
We obtain the key from a key box and walk a few stairs down to Apartment 1.
On entering, it is a warm and cosy haven from the cold outside. The apartment is clean, fresh and well decorated. It is a small apartment with two small bedrooms, very small bathroom and open plan living/dining/kitchen area. It is well designed and cheerful.
The kitchen is well equipped and has an oven, a ceramic two-burner cooktop, bar fridge, toaster, kettle, coffee plunger (best coffee on the whole trip). There are lots of condiments supplied – coffee, tea, salt, pepper, oil, foil, and cling wrap.
There is a round (extendable) table and 4 chairs, a 2-seater sofa, small coffee table and TV mounted on the wall in the living/dining area.
The apartment is well heated with panel heaters throughout.
The main bedroom has a comfortable queen bed plus very small side tables and lamps, a chest of drawers and small chair.
The second bedroom has a double bed, a small bedside table with reading lamp, and a wardrobe with mirror doors.
The bathroom is very compact with very good shower, small basin and toilet. A small built in cupboard contains our towels. Liquid soap plus sachets of shampoo/conditioner are supplied.
We can highly recommend a stay at Sem Apartments – clean, comfortable and well located.
